Reese taking one of her cat naps. She'll wake up around midnight and want to hang out. But she's getting better about sleeping more when Mommy and Daddy need to. She slept almost 5 hours on Friday night!

My Long Lost Sister

Ok so we were just born on the same day. But still pretty cool. This is me and Gina at our joint birthday party Saturday night in downtown Fort Worth. Gina is a yankee but she loves Texas! 

Thank You Daddy

Tomorrow marks the 2 year anniversary of my dad’s passing. September 21 now marks two special days, his birthday and his homecoming. I won’t lie and say that I never think about it anymore or that everything is ok. But I did want to take an opportunity to say thank you to my hero. Thank you for your life. Thank you for the love and care that you showed me from my very first breath. Thank you for always putting my needs and desires above your own. Thank you for all of the wisdom and guidance that you gave. Thank you for all of the trips to the toy store, McDonald’s, and the movies. Thank you for all of the late night help with my homework. Thank you for playing catch with me in the back yard more times than I can count. (I miss those the most) Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for being strong. Thank you for making me proud. Thank you for your example as a husband. Thank you for showing me how to be a father. (I really wish you could have been there on Sept. 8, it was tough not having you there to hold your new granddaughter). Thank you for everything. Thank you for being my Daddy.

3 Ounce

So Reese has officially moved up to the 3 ounce club. She let us know in her not so subtle way that she was ready for more in her bottle. Hopefully more food equals more sleep at night! 

Much Better

So this bathtime was much better than the last one we posted. Reese is going to kill me when she's a teenager for posting these kinds of pictures of her!

Good Luck Charm

Uncle Jay (not her real uncle, but close enough) stopped by before the softball game to see if Reese could offer any inspiration. Guess it worked because Jay crushed the first pitch he saw into the parking lot. However, the Bombers fell in a heartbreaking 17-16 loss in the last inning.

Tiny Feet

Her feet are so tiny! You can see on her right foot where they had to draw blood twice. By the way she gets the foot crossing thing from Mommy and Daddy.

Babysittees Become Babysitters

The Alexander kids dropped by to say hello. It's crazy to think that the first little girl I ever babysat was Avery (standing in the foreground in pink). Now Avery is 7! Time flies. Izzy thought Reese's mohawk was pretty cool.

Dress Me Up

This is Reese's first dress (and I'm sure it won't be her last) to wear. She didn't like the collar too much, but she looked good. And isn't that all that matters? :)

Bath Time

You decide whether she liked the bath or not. I'll give you a hint... The top picture is right after Mommy finished the bath. The bottom picture is Reese bundled up in her ducky towel on Daddy's chair in the living room two minutes later. But she sure smells good now. :)

Afternoon Snack

She eats about an ounce and a half and then its off to sleep again. I don't think I could sleep if someone was holding my chin and hitting me on the back... but Reese can!

Hangin' with Grammy

Grammy dropped by to say hello. Reese slept the entire time! Guess babies do that a lot.

Diaper Gate

Daddy finally changed a diaper today while Mommy was taking a nap. Both Daddy and Reese made it through. But feeding is way more fun...

Sleeping Jedi

Daddy decided that Reese's first movie to see would be Return of the Jedi. She was awake for the opening credits. But it was a good chance for Mommy to take a nap and for Daddy to expose his daughter to one of the best movies ever!

Uncle Matty & Aunt Andril

This is Reese right after she was born with our best friends Matt and Andrea. Reese likes to call them Uncle Matty and Aunt Andril. That's where she gets her first name from. Andril is Andrea's nickname for those that were wondering.

Again?

Daddy! Why do you take so many pictures of me with that crazy phone of yours?

By the way it's been four days and Daddy still hasn't changed a diaper! There is a bet on to see how long it takes before he has to change one.

Soothies

Soothies are good... She actually hasn't cried for more than 3 seconds yet at home. I'm sure that will change. This afternoon was just some good chill time for Mommy and Reese.

Sleep is Good

She likes to sleep alot. She gets that from her Daddy. Check out that cool hair!

Last Night in the NICU?

Mommy and Reese last night in the NICU. Reese has always been wide awake each time we go and see her. And you can't see it from the picture but she has a nice little mohawk of brown hair. And right now she has dark blue eyes. We are about to leave for the hospital again and hopefully we can finally take our daughter home and let everyone get some rest!

Hi

Don't be fooled by the look on her face. Daddy just fed her 45 cc's of formula. To the layperson that is an 1 1/2 ounces. The crazy nurse had the nerve to tell me I wasn't doing it right! Isn't she so cute?

Baby Reese!

This is our little girl - Andril Reese. And just to avoid any confusion we are calling her Reese.

As of today she is still in the NICU, getting antibiotics. But as you can see she looks great and she's been eating fine. Everything looks normal, the doctors are just being a little overly cautious because her white blood cell count was elevated on Saturday morning. But that can be caused by stress, which is normal. Birth isn't always the easiest thing in the world! :)

Here's all the info people care about...
Born - 9/8/06 at 6:49pm, weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was 20 1/4 inches long.

We are really hoping to bring her home sometime tomorrow night but we just don't know anything concrete yet. Keep checking back as we'll try to add more pictures of our beautiful little daughter.
